OUR SON BEN SHOWING HIS SUPPORT OF THE PACKERS AND THE SALVATION ARMY! HE LOVES RINGING BELLS EVERY YEAR...
Ben has two chromosomal duplications which causes his autism, mental health concerns and his learning differences. He shows animals at our local fair and is an active member of one of the county's 4H groups. He enjoys giving back to the community and helping others. Ben's smile and laughter is contagious and encourages others to embrace life.
My family and I have decided to start this foundation as a result of our personal struggle to find support and resources for our four children who are in need of special education services.
We have found that, although the community may offer suggestions of who to contact or where to go to find help, unless a person is extremely persistent and will do anything for their child's well being, the support chain falls apart without continuous maintenance.
Our family has decided to pull together and offer a pool of resources to other families in need and help them anyway we can.
Our children have taught us a lot. We have learned that they are a gift and what we decide to do with that gift is up to us. This has required an attitude adjustment and learned patience, but we have finally reached the comfort level. Every day is a challenge, but, we welcome everyday with a smile. Our children are our lives and we would not have it any other way.
